Description:

Lock It and Leave It ! Don't want to carry your helmet any more, or trust a flimsy D-ring lock? The HelmetSecure lock attaches permanently to a round handlebar or crashbar, so you only need to fit it once. After that, the lock is always available for use, without having to carry it or store it. The HelmetSecure lock incorporates an integral, pre-coiled 15" steel cable to go through the face of the helmet or D-ring and back into the lock. The bolts that secure the lock to the handlebar become inaccessible when the cable is locked - so the locking mechanism not only locks the cable, but also prevents the lock itself from being removed from the handlebar. If you have the key, you can unbolt the lock from the handlebar. The HelmetSecure lock is supplied with two rubber inserts so that it can be fitted, as standard, to handlebars 7/8", 1" and 1 1/4" in diameter. Includes Allen/Hex key - no other tools are needed. The HelmetSecure lock is finished in OEM-style bright chrome so that it fits the look of you custom, cruiser, standard or naked bike.

Features:
  • Lock It and Leave It ! Permanently Attached Helmet Lock.

  • Attaches permanently to a round handlebar or crashbar.

  • No need to carry your helmet with you any more.

  • Fits diameter 7/8" and 1" and 1 1/4" handlebars/crashbars

  • Show quality chrome finish

4Convenient and Clean Look... Except for Some Rust  Jul 12, 2010
By Stabzz
A little bit on the pricy side for helmet locks, I decided to try this item out because I wanted something that would look clean and be convenient to use. I have now had this installed for approximately 10 months.

Packaging/Looks: This shiny, well built, and handsome lock came with the parts necessary to fit around my 1" handlebars [and of course extras to mount on larger ones] and two keys. Installation was straight forward and the "hardest" part was actually trying to center it and level it out in the way I wanted to have it look. The installed cable is about as thick as a standard bike lock cable and is long enough to secure two helmets or one helmet and a jacket. Can it be cut? I am sure it can, but it is a deterrent against would-be thieves.

Rust: Since I like to wash my bike and actually take the bike out in the elements, I have some rust build up around the connector and its interior housing compartment (where the end of the lock loops around and enters back into the lock). I could possibly attribute this to the fact that the lock/cable is facing forward (as advertised by manufacturer and photos on the Internet). If I faced it in the opposite direction, the accumulation of the rust may have been minimized.

Overall, I really like the product and it makes for a very convenient and clean accessory for the bike. I definitely recommend this product!

Bought this helmet lock for my 2003 Honda Shadow. The lock was easy to install and looks nice, like it could be an OEM accessory. It's been through a few rainstorms and no hints of rust so far (installed 3 months ago). Appears to be secure enough to deter anyone from wanting to mess with it.

This is a very well made item and it looks really good on my motorcycle. If I were to change anything, I would make the cable longer and larger in diameter. Yes, someone with some wire cutters can nibble away at the cable and cut though it. This is true of any size cable but this cable is pretty small and wouldn't take long to cut. It will keep the unprepared criminal from stealing your helmet.

4good lock but...............  Aug 25, 2011
By Joseph A. Gass "papajoe"
I am very impressed with the materials and workmanship of this helmet lock. Absolutely no problem. Until, that is, I wanted to move it to another location on the handlebar. Even though I had the proper size for my bar, I found I had to really crank on the allen wrench to secure it properly. Then when I wanted to loosen the screws to move the lock, I discovered that the screws had become galled and where almost impossible to remove. I did finally get them off, but since the screws are now wasted, I have not re-installed the lock. Replacing the screws is not a solution since the gualling results in removal of thread bearing material and now have nothing to bind against. The lock itself will need to be re-threaded. Way to expensive. Lesson learned!!
