Fit for a mechanic Jan 13, 2012

Good details and helpful for the novice and experienced. A bit too much detail for the novice but it helps doing simpler jobs. Would be nice to have a "Harley for Dummies" for those of us who just need some help with throttle adjustment, oil changes, lamp replacement and other simpler jobs that don't require special tools and diagnostics.

This manual skips around. I have a 2002 and it was difficult finding the right information for that specific year. In many cases the photos are not much help. I would say it's not bad as an auxellery source of info, but I am buying a factory manual next.
Great for starting to work on bikes Sep 10, 2011

I've owned a few bikes, including Harley's in the past, but I've never serviced them myself. I thought it was time for me to be the one working on them. While I've worked on cars all my life, bikes are another story so I wanted to make sure I was doing my 5k, 10k, & 20k services correctly. This book has provided me with all the info I needed to successfully complete these on my own. No need to spend 4 times this amount to have the Harley book. The Clymer manual has detailed instructions and clearly depicted illustrations and photos to walk you through any service you're not familier with. I'd have no issues recommending this as a place to start getting information about servicing your Dyna.

Well written as a technical guide, but lacking in "aftersale" user advice as setup indications and suggestions.
