Assemble a 1:2 Scale Harley-Davidson® Twin Cam 88® Engine with this Visible Plastic Model Kit from Testors. Suitable for Ages 12 & Older. FEATURES: Build a beautiful, exacting replica of the larger and more powerful Big Twin engine with more than 150 precisely engraved, injection molded parts. Clear external parts allow a clear view of all key internal parts. The mechanical operation of the real engine is demonstrated with working crankshaft, pistons, valves, rods, rocker arms, and camshafts. An electric drive motor is concealed under the attractive display base, and has a sound card recording of the real H-D® Twin Cam 88®. Complementing chrome plated parts also included. I have built two of these, after finishing the first one i decided that haveing all the internal moving parts clear as they come in the kit made it hard to see them moveing.
on the second kit i spay painted the internal parts differnt colors of candy to make them easyer to see and it worked great. the company should sujest it in thier instructions.
the only negitive thing i have to add is that both of my kits and i assume all kits were wired so that they turn the motor around in reverse direction to how the motor really runs so opened up the base and redid the wireing to correct this and i know i ride one.

This took several hours to assemble. After it was completed, I noticed that you can hardly see the pistons and rods because they are clear. It would be so much better if they were painted.

Also, the engine is not rotating in the correct direction. The crankshaft rotates counter-clockwise on the real engine not clockwise as in this model. Yes, it does make a difference!

After about 10 cycles the engine stoped rotating completely. Now only the sounds work. This could have been a great model, but because of the poor design and lack of paint detail, I would not recommend this product.
